Time to party...
So it seems we're celebrating the arrival of Mr PoopyPants this Saturday from 2pm. I approve. Here's me keeping my eye on him. I've noticed he he has cute little hands and I like to tickle his feet and hand over the cotton wool to MammaLou when she ventures near his toxic waste. Anyway ... I can show off for you all and grab all the headlines.
Newsflash -- I have been made to start using a 'naughty spot' when I willfully throw things to the floor. Hmmmmmm. Fair enough. But I did make a fabulous Hansel and gretyl House today and stuck loads of sweets on ... which knowing MammaLou (who has been truffling aroud and removing mini chocs from the selection boxes as MadNan used to also do back in the day) ... they'll all be gone by morning. Now that's no way to lose the 20 excess babypounds (serves you right for eating coffee icecream every night for 9 months while protesting 'but I'm growing a human here...!"

Got the moves
... and got the moods that are as shaky as these snakehips. If naughty things get me attention then I'll try those for a while. That includes jumping on MammaLou whenever she tries to see to Mr PoopyPants, using my whiny voice incessantly, clamboring about and dropping all manner of things deliberately on the floor. Offsetting that by sweetly asking for 'big hugs' is running out of currency ... time to get some new moves ...

Normal service has resumed
So Wednesday morning saw the return of my smile and cheerful disposition; I guess if the newboy is a permanent fixture then I may as well enjoy him. Saying 'LUB YOU MOM-EE" seemed to make my previous tardiness evaporate with the MammaLou (she's a pushover really). And I suppose Mr PoopyPants is pretty cute.
Other news -- I HAVE to sing 'SANTA UP CHIMNEY" at least 5 times a day and I've taken to loving bubbles in my bath.

Chockiwokidoodah
I absolutely am NOT happy with Mr Poopy and how much of MammaLou's time he takes up. I therefore am being decidedly difficult and find the use of squealing and throwing things on the floor to be most effective. The only thing that elicits any kind of smile from me for MammaLou is chockiwokidoodah! I will not interact with MammaLou in any way at all until things get back to normal around here -- and I've told her "down baby" several times. But she's just not getting it. Of course, I am still charming everyone else and am now practicing singing Christmas carols for my first nativity on December 10th. Pappa, however, can do no wrong ... (although I still like it when she does SingyTime with me to help me drift off to sleep - that is sacrosanct I suppose).

Toof traumas
Uh-oh ... fell over and knocked my front tooth slightly backwards. Adds character I suppose ... ! Tis my first 'Parents Evening' on Thursday ... made Daddy a bit anxious 'cos he recollects feeling slightly sick when his folks went to his and were told, 'COuld try harder, likes to be the Entertainer in the classroom'. But I have the MammaLou geekyscience genes in me too ... bound to be top of the class ... watch this space ...

Sand and scones
We were chasing away the clouds today by running to the park to get some sand-time in and then me and MammaLou and Daddy all made scones and stuffed our faces. Not long now until my brother arrives ... we're all ready for him now; we have a new playroom where I have donated all my old toys and there are dens and stuff to have fun with. MammaLou still reckons Mon 17th at 0638 (she's very precise) but she's been getting some pretty strong practice contractions since Friday! And she's still campaigning for the name BALTHAZAR or ZEPHYR ... but we know Daddy will win out!

Autumn Days
So walking backwards is my new thing. And I'm loving the new playroom which is a cacophony if colour and toys. If my little brother thinks it will be 'his' room .. well, I'll have to exert BIG sisterhood on him. We are days away from being a family of four ... MammaLou thought last Friday was B-day which prompted all round panics as crib not assembled, no car seat ready and no hospital bag packed. Also, Midwife has insisted on MammaLou taking a homebirth emergency kit. So we've had a busy weekend trying to get ready. Who wants to be prepared ... throw it all in the air and see where it lands I say ...

Spooky
It's Halloween and I made a cat -- Mr Tiddles. I stuck all the pieces on myself! Northern Grampies were here in the week and we carved out a pumpkin ... which I was very pleased abut until we put a candle in it and then oh my I was scared ... and even found the very word to tell people too! Spooky how clever I am! But I absolutely WILL NOT wear the pumpkin costume that MammaLou bought for me ... I have an obligation to remain stylish for my fans you know.

ChoccyChops
So we are still living out of a suitcase but I don't mind cos I am staying at Granny's and I get oodles of treats. Mummy is chairing a European conference on interactions between the pharmaceutical industry and physicians next week and launching www.myphid.com. Daddy is tolerating her nerves and mood swings. I am eating chocolate!

Snoozles
She's not there...
Here's my room -- without me ... we're now at GrannyD's House. We were rescued from the Pee Palace as MammaLou couldn't take it anymore and had a slight mental breakdown. UncyTobes scooped us up and took us to his house and fed everyone curry. Spirits are lifting. Hope those teddies and toys are behaving themselves while I'm away.

Delilah Declarations
I have taken to standing, waving my arms around and yabbering to some unknown. invisible audience for minutes at a time. Am I reciting Baby-Shakespeare, practicing my inaugural speech as Prime Minister or imitating MammaLou. Who knows? One thing's for sure ... I'm starting to have a lot to say for myself ... I start pre-school next week ... watch out Teech!

I love my new bed
Grandad built me a bed ... he is very talented (check out the amazing stuff he builds at (www.carbonframing.com). Here I am singing away in it. We always sing before we go to sleep. MammaLou returns to her Catholic upbringing and sings hymns ... we have an Ave Maria, Peace Perfect Peace and finish with a 'Shalom my friend' which she tells me she used to sing at school at the beginning of the day. Lovely. Only one more big sleep in my bed and Daddy will be home. Hurrah!

Boing, donk, wap
Am so adventurous these days that I overextend myself and fall down which results in sooooo many bruises and bumps. Just yesterday I fell in the sandpit in the park and donked my head on the playthings .... of all the space there I just had to headbutt the water pipe perfectly! Egghead bruise ... call social services (or gimme more chocolate to alleviate the pain)! Oh a couple of you have asked in alarm if that is chocolate on my face or more cuts and damage ... don't worry folks its just the good stuff that MammaLou gave me for being brave.

30 words
So this morning (another rainy August day) we have been going through all the words that I can now say We're at a flirty 30! That's the cerebral done ... time to run and climb a tree ... here's me at Max's house chasing a chicken...
Sunday, 10 August 2008
Stop the press
Oh my, three posts in one day, but I finally got the chance to tell you that I talk, I try to do headstands, I climb everything, I've developed an impressive logic for shapes, colours and sizes and I can nearly swim. I know -- get me! So I've been yabbering for ages and have a vocabulary of about 30 words, but I now constantly ask 'wa da' (cue MammaLou running for physics books to PROPERLY explain thunder and lightning rather than 'God's cross and moving the furniture around' which is what she believed for years.) And yesterday I clearly said 'that is a chair'. It was as well.
And I give out big hugs these days. MWAH darlings, MWAH.
Little Miss GiggleDiddle
From being cross about everything a few months ago, I now giggle at ev-er-y-thing and sing all the time! Tonight I found that putting on my jimmyjams was just the most hilarious thing and this morning MammaLou woke up to hear me scuttling around (still inside my sleeping bag) trying to find the television. (I think she's hoping I'll make her breakfast in bed one of these days but I get waylaid by the first 15 minutes of 'Happy Feet' which I will watch over and over and then recreate in the street, tappetty tap to make people smile.)
Don't worry, be happy ...
Don't worry, be happy ...
Olympic spirit
Check out the new video of me ... people think I am just walking along a wood carving on a croc in a park ... but I'll let you in on a little secret ... I'm in training for the 2020 olympics ... the beam ... look at these moves.
Mummy is training again too ... she went to the gym for the first time in 6 months this morning mumbling about gaining 3 stone in 6 months and not being fit enough for labour. Dunno what the treadmill has got to do with politics? That Brown fellow doesn't exactly look ripped? MammaLou's TummyHouse sure is getting big tho ... and Atticus is nearly as much of a mover as me. Gonna have to keep my eye on that wee fellow.
Loud Northern Nanny just went home ... I love her, she's mental.
It was my boyfriend's 2nd birthday yesterday -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX x (I say he's my boyfriend but he's blonder than me and that's not fair!). A big shout out also to Auntie Lizzie in Dubai who also had a birthday recently but we weren't organised enough to get the gifts there in time. Apparently AL has become a running bear ... I'll race you around the park when you're here in September ... bet you can't catch meeeeeeeee!
Hello to Daddy in Sydney ... missing you, thanks for leaving me cards to open each day while you're away. See you on Friday. x

Daddy DVT
Dad's off again ... in 10 days he will visit NY, LA, Sydney and Singapore. We're concerned. Remember 1) hydrate 2) no alcohol 3) move around a lot 4) aspirin. Other news .... MammaLou is having a BOY ... and already the name Atticus Gabriel D'Arcy is taking a pounding from people. But as Einstein said, "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."
Well said!

Patience people
I know, I know .... you need an update. But mummy's is running around to meetings all over the country setting up www.myphid.com and Daddy is in NY. Honestly, you just can't get the staff these days. I'm even having to do my own cleaning! As Supernanny would mispronounce ... "this is un-a-cccep-able behaviour" (I don't think she does t's.)

Don't move, improve
So the parents are thinking about a major apartment overhaul rather than moving. They're talking relocating the kitchen, bashing down walls to create a 40 foot reception area and making another bedroom and shower room next to mine. Hmm ... seems like this new kid on the block is actually going to change the block! I've been trying to help them plan it all out using playdoh.

Constantly cross
From the moment I wake up to the time I go to sleep I seem to feel constantly cross these days. I want to cling to MammaLou's legs, throw things off all the shelves and push everything out of my way. And kick, kick, kick. Grrrr. Perhaps once I learn to talk I will be less frustrated because I'll be able to tell everyone what I want. Until then, MammaLou will just have to accept that she is my climbing frame and personal slave! BooBoo Campbell that's me (duck here comes a phone).

Sending Daddy a BIG smile
What's wrong with you people?
Seriously now ... come on people, get a grip. MammaLou is paranoid enough as it is without you guys acting suspiciously ... and you know who you are! Cut it out treating her badly ... she works hard and she works well. Give her a break why don't you!
P.S. I got new purple kickers ... don't they look great.

Another tropical UK Spring
It is snowing outside, so MammaLou and me are inside playing drums and dancing to warm up. Check out our moves and toons.

Hello Auntie Lizzie
Friday, 28 March 2008
Lulu Limpet
It must be the grim weather that's affecting my mood ... I had a tantrum that lasted a full hour this morning and I need to be picked up at all times. MammaLou says she has reached the end of her tether but we haven't even left the house so how can that be? Still, she's learning that letting me watch TV gives her some peace.

On the move...
Mummy and daddy have decided to search for a bigger pad; seems I am taking over the joint. So they've been cleaning and preening and I have to keep my room tidy. Hard though when there are so many toys to play with!
Here's me taking after GrampyD who makes beautiful furniture ... check out his site for amazing bespoke stuff on

Don't mess with La Boo
... you wake me, you feel my wrath.
Infact, no more babyboo, I have entered ToddlerTantrum zone and frankly, I'm frightening.
Yesterday, MammaLou gave me the wrong cheese; I yelled for a full 10 minutes, ran into the hall and threw myself to the floor in despair.
Give me everything I want, exactly when I want it, and nobody gets hurt.

You can't keep a good girl down
MammaLou is fed up of negative, 'can't-do' people. And rubbish feedback. She's a sensitive soul. Daddy got a good bonus ... all-in-all, this has left MammaLou wondering why she bothers working when she could let Daddy breadwin while she plays with me.
I think she'll be wondering a while ... watch this space.

If you go down to the woods today ...
Congratulations to MammaLou who has started running again after a year of thyroid problems and a wee cancer scare (apparently that's an oxymoron but I know not what that is!). The super one managed 5k straight off and wasn't in pain the next day ... next year the marathon.
Here I am in my local park ... lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Atten--shun
Here I am, Officer Candidate D'Arcy reporting for training. I've heard it said tho' that the pen is mightier than sword and Mamma-Lou is hoping I'll follow in her footsteps and see the world in words not war. But thanks to all those who take on the nasty stuff for us ... like my Godfather ... Major MC ... he's been in Iraq twice already. A big hug to him and his men ... support them at www.helpforheroes.com.
Been quite the social bunny this weekend. Spent Friday afternoon with friends Max, Matilda and Sophie in the big Parfrement posh house in the country and just met baby Bert Dicker today ... who at 2 weeks old made Mamma-Lou go all broody and start waffling on about the smell of a newborn's head and how magical it is to be carry, deliver and nurture a child. Oh-oh ... think I'd better hide all my toys away now as it sounds like there are plans a-hatching to expand the brood.
She claims she can only conceive in the Maldives tho ... fair enough.
Although it might be a lot of fun to boss a little brother around ... atteeeeeen -- shun!

New stuff
Quite a cognitive step forward or two of late with understanding, reasoning and responding. I can point to several body parts (eyes, ears, nose, mouth, knees, toes, heart and tummy) which makes MammaLou wonder if a career in pathology beckons. Aside from such morbid meanderings, I am also yabbering non-stop with clearly discernible words like book, bath and bed to make my needs crystal clear. It's frustrating not being able to formulate whole sentences yet ... there is time.
Here's me and the sheep getting ready for bed. Thanks for the jammies Auntie Gill ... x

Spinning around
Apparently, MammaLou is Queen of Spin ... I just like to twirl ... watch out Kylie, I'm gonna steal your cutesy crown.

I got rhythm
Man oh man life is fun ... I love to spin and do a wee jazzzzzz funk move (plus my drum n' bass response is pretty cool -- prob from hearing the Pa play the Prodigy at my scans to get me to kick)
Have now expanded my vocbabulary (verbal and signing) so much ... quite the gobby little boo. I do all the gestures for several songs, I can point to body parts on request (mine that is, not random strangers) and frankly, I'm pretty darned good at making myself understood.
And conveying my displeasure when you don't do what I want ... have taken to biting MammaLou (well I gotta make sure these 3 new teeth work right?).
What's most amusing to my parents is I actually ask to go to bed. Yup 1915 and no messing ... a girl needs her beauty sleep ... and when you're as purty as me, nothing less than 12 hours will do.
I got rhythm. I got music. I got boo-words ... who could ask for anything more?
On the subject of rhythm ... what happened to The Method: loads of people are declaring or about to have their second baby ... MammLou wants to know where they get the energy cos she says frankly she's much more partial to giant sized choccy buttons and Gray's Anatomy. Me no get all this grown up yibberyabber. Will stick to gliggliegulegule...
